‘Almond’ by Won-pyung Sohn is far more than a coming-of-age story. Through Yunjae, a boy who cannot feel emotions the way others do, the novel explores how we judge, misread, and distance ourselves from one another. Difficult, tender, and ultimately beautiful in its portrait of humanity. #booksky 📚💙

Taylor Swift’s ‘Opalite’ music video is brilliant. I think I could watch it on repeat for, I don’t know, a few hours at least. 😂

I’m didn’t read as many as others, I’m sure, but it has felt so good to get back into a more deliberate reading schedule.

I feel like I stepped off a psychological merry-go-round after My Husband’s Wife. Alice Feeney scrambled my brain in the best way. Every chapter flipped my theories. You will say “just one more chapter” and lie. Wild, disorienting, brilliant. Slow clap from me. #books #newreleases #booksky 📚💙

A new essay is up today: I’m Done Apologizing for Being Me.

It’s about unlearning the habit of self-erasure and choosing grace instead.

The Wedding People by The Wedding People was my first Alison Espach read, and I loved it. Great hook, a compelling Phoebe, and a smart balance of dark themes and humor that never tips too far. I devoured it, and it’s now near the top of my favorites.

There is nothing like the feeling of finally shoveling your car out from under mounds and mounds of snow. #freeatlast #nomoresnow

Snowy day! Spent an hour shoveling and it’s already getting covered up again! Glad I had some donuts as a reward! #snow #delaware

When tons of snow is headed your way and you know you will be shoveling a lot, you drive up to Wanderlust Doughnuts to fuel up! ⛄️ 🍩

I’m scared to look at the latest snow forecast. For just a few moments, I’m going to live in a delusional parallel reality where there will no snow and only crisp (not arctic) cool temps. A reality where I won’t be shoveling snow all day tomorrow. Anyone care to join me? 🤣

I love the beautiful ache that overtakes you when you finish a beautiful book. It is one of life’s best pains.

Hello, Bluesky! I was here before. Then I left. I missed you. Now I’m back.

I’ve got a fresh new site and a shiny new Substack. My first post back is an essay I wrote for myself . . . and for anyone learning when it’s okay to walk away.
