I know it’s cliche but it’s literally true: we are the politicians’ bosses. We can fire them and we can tell them what conditions we require for them to keep their jobs. It has ever been thus. Make them understand we’re not asking, we’re telling.
Citizens are in the driver's seat now imho. It's cool if some politicians are quicker on the uptake than others but they are following us now, I'm not waiting for them anymore

Yesterday I sat on the floor next to a client as she sobbed, blaming herself for not knowing something was wrong with her cat. I told her that she's not to blame whatsoever, knowing full well that I've been in her shoes and not believed anyone telling me the same.

One of the other vets in town brought us a goodie box for the holidays and I fell in love with the toffee in it. Looked it up to buy myself some and it's $35 a pound. Did not expect that, considering it was amongst a notepad and Nutter Butters. 🫠

I mentioned at my in-laws' Thanksgiving that I turn 40 in a couple weeks and someone asked if I were dreading it. I've had three friends not make it to 40 so no, I don't dread turning 40. I just wonder why they didn't get the chance.
