The 6th Street bridge and then the park have had some cost overruns. In 2024, Metro and L.A. City shifted canceled-710 Freeway funds to fill a $2M shortfall. See end of this post la.streetsblog.org/2024/07/25/j...

Briefly... Glendale-Hyperion Bridge was a huge fight c. 2010-2015. Advocates' outrageous demand: two sidewalks (& bike lanes). Ultimately the city approved a crap ped-killer single sidewalk design. la.streetsblog.org/2015/06/09/w...
