I will never not love having a dog who howls at sirens even if it interrupts me while I’m editing. It’s just too adorable.

We’ve (my fam & my parents) moved around so much that the vacation spot we’ve been going to since I was 8 feels the most home to me. I miss these mountains all year & am so lucky to still be able to be home there for a bit in the summer.

Well, everything just got even worse.

So here’s our linden tree, who decided to bloom in full force today. The air around our house is intoxicating.

In the midst of all the terrible it was amazing to spend the solstice supporting friends’ art & performance at Sunset On the Longest Day tonight.
Ruth Burke and the delightful Clark & Sparky disc a spiral to create the performance space. Under direction from Shannon Epplett, it was a night to honor Indigneous stories & participate in Ruth’s living land acknowledgement prairie restoration by planting seeds.

Everything is terrible.

Also today I managed to scrape the mud off this goober and get his blanket on him in the dark while a winter storm blew in and he ran around me like a kite on a string without him squashing me.

So, little victories.
