The fact that I read over 40 books this year is wild to me. My goal was to make a significant dent in my TBR list, if not get through the whole list (a girl can dream lol).

For me, it’s smirk. I used smirk so many times in earlier drafts of Aero Knights, I can only laugh at myself 😂And now, when I type the word, I go for a different one.

Three things I learned while writing a book that go against common assumption:
- No, self-editing is not enough (hiring an editor is worth it, I promise)
- The greater the word count does NOT mean the better the story
- 3-4 editing passes is not a lot, or enough. 8-12 is normal.

It's been a stressful time lately with many firsts and learning curves. But I’m reminding myself to look at the steps I took to get here. I got this far. I can keep going.
