On this date in 2000 the Red Sox signed FA Manny Ramírez to a 8 yr $160 Million deal, with $20 Million options for 2009 & 10. In 7+ yrs with the Sox he hit .312 with 274 HR’s, 868 RBI’s, a .411 OBP, a .999 OPS and a 33.2 WAR. He was a 8x AS, 6x SS winner and 2x World Champion.
