Just here to see what my husband is posting
Pinned
Reporting on what goes on on librarian listservs: The group is "onto something" (someone quoting Mel Gibson in What Women Want), that there is a plot by DOGE collaborating with Russia to start an astroturf campaign against the Library of Congress because of a rumor that the books are moldy

they can rent 20% of their units to younger people. source: I’m moving into one this month
It's wrong that they won't let me live in a 55+ community simply due to my age. They should let you in if you match the "general vibe"

Made in Malines 📍
Au début du 16e siècle, la ville de Malines est un grand centre artistique de création de statuettes polychromées. Objets de dévotion privée, elles sont exportées dans toute l’Europe.
Retrouvez quelques exemples de productions malinoises dans nos collections ! 👀

Library school is really bringing out the "doing the group project by myself" aspect of my personality.

Man fuck these people
Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.

How far we have not come in 250 years.

It's ok! They're letting us apply!
Unrelated to anything, but my wife and I saw an apartment today we were about to put a deposit down on, and then saw on the website that it’s a 55+ community? I’m extremely confused why they showed it to us???

Would anyone in Philly like a lot of wool and alpaca yarn for free? About to move and trying to downsize.

not entirely apropos but the weirdest thing I ever encountered at my old synagogue was an Italian American former Gitmo guard who was converting to Judaism
"Ex-ICE agent" will become the stock character of choice for anyone needing to populate a story with some mooks who are idiotic but also utterly unsympathetic (so if the protagonist curb stomps them it's awesome)

My mom (a former classical oboist) just told me there is a tremendous amount of drama and backstabbing in the NY oboe community, and it's about as juicy as you could imagine.

Even more strangely, there's no reason LinkedIn keeps trying to get me to apply for dog-walking and dog-grooming jobs, especially since I actively dislike pets.
It’s crazy to me that LinkedIn does not understand that “associate” is not a profession. No, the fact that I am an associate at a law firm does not imply I would be interested in in an asset protection associate role at Walmart. Nor does it mean I should be an associate professor of endocrinology

Checking in and reading @bill-of-lefts.bsky.social's recent posts. I'm not online enough to understand most of it, but I still like to be a supportive wife.

Every time I prepare for an interview I think to myself that it can't go worse than Hannah calling the interviewer a rapist as a joke in Girls

Would recommend playing Neopets while waiting for a Zoom interview to start. Very soothing.

the American schism, like the Anglican schism before it, will include a sniveling prince trying to get a divorce
He's going to divorce Usha and marry Erika Kirk. That will give him the perfect Aryan specimen that he wants for a wife and the base expects him to have for a wife.
Funny situation JD has put himself in.

The fact that you’re seeing me post less is because this product actually works lol. If you are chronically online and think it’s an impediment to your life, I’d consider it. not an ad, just it‘s remarkably improving my concentration
