not entirely apropos but the weirdest thing I ever encountered at my old synagogue was an Italian American former Gitmo guard who was converting to Judaism
"Ex-ICE agent" will become the stock character of choice for anyone needing to populate a story with some mooks who are idiotic but also utterly unsympathetic (so if the protagonist curb stomps them it's awesome)

My mom (a former classical oboist) just told me there is a tremendous amount of drama and backstabbing in the NY oboe community, and it's about as juicy as you could imagine.

Even more strangely, there's no reason LinkedIn keeps trying to get me to apply for dog-walking and dog-grooming jobs, especially since I actively dislike pets.
It’s crazy to me that LinkedIn does not understand that “associate” is not a profession. No, the fact that I am an associate at a law firm does not imply I would be interested in in an asset protection associate role at Walmart. Nor does it mean I should be an associate professor of endocrinology
