let's hope that reinstalling them will fix it.... i tried just taking the problematic folders off of the main addins folder, editing manifests etc...... i don't want to have to reinstall the entire game & possibly lose my save file..... literally blowing up

truly a case of The Setting being against it, bc if not for it....
E/C is one of these ships i see but at the same time i don't? i first saw it in hopes cannon and my own opinions of these characters in hopes vs in houses certainly colored my opinion of the ship itself, bc in many ways it does seem to have end up becoming reliant on the hopes exclusive characterization when people post about them? i do think it has shenanigans potential with an arranged marriage and i think it could play off w/ both of their ambitions (or lack thereof, considering C doesn't want the Alliance); and this is all very AU but the war would unfold very differently and i think that that would be interesting to explore. but at the same time i just.... lowkey don't see them falling in love/being romantically together as much as developing a friendship based on the mutual gain from their shenanigans & a mutual respect for not trusting people in cannon, specially considering they just don't seem very close during the academy years (bc none of the lords seems close tbh) so i think that that would curb them being able to get to know each other considering how tense political relations are after E declares war...

i guess i don't have an unpopular opinion..... but that might be bc i'm either seeing only the enlightened takes that survived eras or bc i only have scraps to work with....
i was actually quite baffled by how nothing the end cards were for the game even outside the quantity of text limitation imposed by the gba's screen, so the fact that they don't have an ending together is just.... sad actually. like E has an ending w/ fucking forde. i barelly remember him beside being my filler armor horsey. absolutely everyone is the straightman to L's funnyman, but i do think E does it best bc their supports are actually so sweet. and also E very much does offer to protect L when she sees L training, which is very knightly of her even though she is a princess and i think it's very interesting how throughout her route E is much more knightly than princess-ly, so the two do fit very well together in that trope sense. (and they do give off cleric x myrmidom which is a fe trope thing bc i'm making it a fe trope thing!)

R/B genuinely is one one of my big "making her worse" ships.... like, i rll can't see it being genuinely healthy for R considering the whole mom homunculus thing; and she does project that heavily on B..... highkey freudian fauxcest possibly actualcest case? and i think that trying to ignore or tone down or "resolve" it by R reject it is doing a big disservice to their relationship bc it only exists due to R's grief wrt her mother... B can reject it tho, i think that is very interesting, tho B rejecting it only makes sense in CF for me. and on the CF note, i do rll enjoy the tension that can be between them in CF that honestly isn't there in SS or VW simply bc in those later two B doesn't have the very dramatic option to literally remove the crest stone, reject the whole church etc etc. war prize R mmmmmm. and it has to be f/f. m!B can die from the time skip for all i care. my unpop is that R is NOT mommy, stop with this nonsense! like, i think ppl take that one scene where she sings while B is laying on her lap as this mommy thing but it genuinely could not be anything less...... R can be mommy for other people, just rll not for B C/R.... very classic knight nursed/given purpose by / isserving a mystical lady, and i do think it's funny that that is literally their in cannon relationship. it being locked behind R's brother's support with C is genuinely so sad. i do feel she would be telling more people how great R is for saving her. actually went to reread C's endcards rn and i think that her becoming a merc if B doesn't have an A or S support with R is an Extremly Silly choice that makes absolutelly no sense watsoever. this is unrelated to the ship thing but just AURGH i wish their in cannon relationship wasn't dependent on a third party? bc like, C's whole deal is serving R, that wouldn't change bc B wasn't besties with R..... anyways i think that them living together in the middle of nowhere is actually quite cute but at the same time way too And They Lived Hapily Every After which is quite a weird? ending when R is literally a dragon god baby that created a religion.... not that fully feel good ends are bad, just... idk. doesn't seem to fit the tone of the whole setting for me

i think it's the very rare case of a ship endearing me to character? like, it took a long time for me to be endeared by D bc tbh he had a very very bad start (the tevinter of him all tbh...) but by the time i got to the relationship banter w/ IB he had just started to grown on me and it was the final push to actually enjoying his character there are other banters that do it, but like, it is such a big push in favor of both of their characterizations & how they change due to the inquisition; one thing i rll like is the endings bc them being basically ldr seems much more truer & fulfilling than like, picture perfect "and then they married and bought a house in a village" ending i worried would be shoehorned in :p
