Really stark data from @sheltercharity.bsky.social showing how women carry the burden of the rental crisis.

Women make up ~60% of adults in homeless temporary accommodation, and single mums make up a third of all people in temporary accommodation, though they only make up ~2% of the UK population.

Women are furious - is it time to make this year’s IWD – International Walkout Day?
As the horrific extent to which the world’s wealthiest men have used their power to abuse becomes clear, a wave of fury has been unleashed. Women have had enough, writes Helen Coffey – but we might not be as powerless as we think we are

There's no excuse for anybody to have maintained relations with a monster like Epstein.

It's not enough for people to step back from public life.

Every institution implicated must be held to account. Every individual must face justice.

A government enthralled to men and corporations drunk on power is the rot at the centre of the Mandelson scandal.

Of all seven of the Nolan principles, openness can help build back the most trust.

Every MP, like me, should release logs of all lobbying meetings.

Everyone needs somewhere safe to call home. 🏠

Yet the asylum system forces people into homelessness and places them at risk of further harm.

This is outrageous. The system must change.

Deepfake abuse is a clear violation of women’s rights and has a long-lasting, traumatic impact on victims. Today it becomes a criminal offence. But the law must go further to prevent this harm from happening.

Researchers find that nearly all women who have sexual relationships with someone who had a position of authority over them (e.g., boss, professor) report it had a negative impact on them.

Most also come to see those relationships as abuses of power—no matter how they felt at the time.

This impact will be reflected across all aid budgets including humanitarian responses. As of Feb last year, humanitarian assistance accounts for only 30p of every £100 of public spending, the lowest level in 25 years.

The cost of this is more children going without healthcare, food, and protection.

That’s because parents pay upfront, and claim back later. But 1/3 non-working UC parents can't afford these upfront costs.

The Flexible Support Fund (FSF) EXISTS to help, but awareness remains low 👇
