I will be so disappointed if this isn't your Joco nametag

I would love one that was ... more fashionable? ... and certainly one that was more breathable. But what I actually NEED is a raincoat that WORKS, and that I can travel with. And I have that.

My raincoat is unflattering (it has no relationship to my body whatsoever) and it makes me sweaty if I have to wear it for a long time. But it has saved me a bunch of times (from rain AND cold) so it has my respect.
It is ... a True Raincoat.

The REI link discusses how waterproof fabrics aren't always breathable. I know! It kinda sucks! You know what's worse? Being caught in a downpour and getting soaked to the bone. Either have a raincoat or don't. (You can always get an umbrella and hope for the best.)

You need it to be waterPROOF because you want it to KEEP YOU DRY if it rains, not keep you "less damp." So insist on waterproof. Ignore "water-resistant" and all its empty promises.
And get a coat with a hood--or know you will also be buying another item to keep your head dry.

You need a hood because a jacket without a hood--listen, you know rain will also fall on your HEAD, right? If you don't have a jacket with a hood, you will also need an umbrella and/or a rain hat or bonnet.
