I still can’t believe I got to see Twin Peaks: The Return Part 8 on the big screen last night.

Someday I will learn not to start a streaming movie on the last day of the month with the intention of finishing it the next day. Guess I’ll never get to find out what’s up with this Silver Shamrock factory in Halloween III.

Is patty Griffin's 1000 Kisses the perfect fall album? I think there might be a strong case for yes.

I'm old enough to remember when you just used a binder clip on a stack of index cards and called it a "hipster PDA". It did not cost $100. It cost between free and $8 depending on how you felt about taking things from the work supply closet.

I have to give my cat a med that is apparently so gross tasting it feels like a boss battle of feline medicine distribution.

"Husband wins Ohio lottery scratch-off, plans to cover wife's cancer treatment"

The United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world and should provide universal healthcare.

No one should have to win the lottery to afford cancer treatment.

I just wrote down "review lists" and "make more lists" on my to do list. This definitely seems like the action of a mentally healthy person and not one who is spiraling.

I was 16 years old in 1997. This thread feels so real.

Here's my full theory, I’m increasingly convinced is actually true:
August 19, 1997, the day The Dance by Fleetwood Mac was released, is the high water mark of post-Cold War Western Baby Boomer culture AND is the peak of the whole “end of history” fantasy. This is when post-capitalism begins.
In retrospect, we can all agree that Fleetwood Mac's 1997 live reunion album, The Dance, is probably the high water mark of boomer culture, no?

These are the things i think about while drawing buildings.

I frequently get behind on my film podcasts because I want to watch the movie(s) before listening. I guarantee that this thoughtful discussion is a WAY better use of my time than actually watching either of these movies.
Writer @souljagoyshmulik.bsky.social joins us to discuss WHAT IS A WOMAN?, a piece of transphobic propaganda hosted by conservative anti-personality Matt Walsh, and LADY BALLERS, an anti-woke sports comedy that somehow hates women even more than trans people.
