Also, he was the kindest person I've ever known, even after having lived through the great depression as the child of immigrants, and serving as a pilot in WWII. He loved cats.

Not a Boomer, but I had a very close relationship with my grandpa Hal, who was a WWII veteran. He passed in 2023 at 99 years old. In his last few months we talked a bit about the rise of Nazism in this country, and it broke his heart. Sometimes I'm so grateful he didn't live to see some things.

Lately I've been trying to make sense of the fact that I dress like this but make jewelry like that. I got nothing.
