11/2024 update: working on it but I'm still not sure I'm really here yet because I can only take so much social media checking and I'm lazy. Still easier to find me on Mastodon at the moment: @[email protected]
Couldn't find one either, but the new entrance is on the Capital One Hall side of the Metro station (see the blue asterisk). Now, instead of having to exit the Metro station on 123 and walk alongside the busy road before looping up to that development, you can exit on that side and be closer.

Was good seeing so many people come out for this year's Ride For Your Life/ @safestreetsdc.bsky.social walk on the World Day of Remembrance. Very different event, but like yesterday's @ward5familybiking.bsky.social ride, a wonderful sense of community. And huge thanks to @waba.org, as always!

With a much younger delegate in Congress...this was just her 8th year!

It's been a long-time coming! I can now chuckle at this caption from the 1999 concept plan...

Still some finishing touches before it's completely done/open, but the MBT #biikeDC extension up to Takoma alongside Blair was quite lovely to ride this afternoon.

Seven years later - where are they now? #bikeDC

I'll be the first to admit that this morning's errand (taking the old beverage fridge to Fort Totten for bulk trash disposal) would've been *easier* with a car, but it by no means *required* a car. #bikeDC

Hard to believe that this bridge is less than 11 years old.

Quite a turnout this lovely Sunday morning @ward5familybiking.bsky.social

I was a few years late - this album is burned into my teenage soul (more than I knew at the time) and also was somehow my gateway to Little Earthquakes.

On the plus side, was surprised that the jersey barriers were gone from one side...though I assume the reasons were terrible because that's the world we're in right now.

No fucks given.

Lots of activity at this checkpoint on South Capitol just before the DC Maryland line

Is everything a "food hall" these days?

I feel like I generally have an idea of #bikeDC related events in this town, but had no clue this was happening next weekend.

Sign me up for some magical green paint!

@bikeshare.bsky.social Some pickups are needed at 28th and Pennsylvania... This is quite hazardous.

New (at least to me) progress on the 100 block of K NE - it's going to make that connection so much safer for cyclists *and* drivers.

Ok... I'm not in NYC, but it seems rather insulting to discount the number of people who voted for Mamdani because of what he stood for by CNN claiming the liberal enthusiasm was just because of disgust with Cuomo, no?

It is rather on brand that the one photo I took on this day 7 years ago when we sold our car to CarMax is of the crappy bike rack out front. (but at least they had one!)

Since it's not shown in each year's file, here's a copy/paste of the Trails master project from the capital budget from the last few years. (Hopefully transcribed correctly.)

I *really* hope Trader Joe's is paying for having the entire parking garage dedicated to them (and only them), rather than having any spaces for the residents upstairs. Otherwise, seems like a waste...

This one? They were waiting to back into the loading dock and was idling per the security guards instructions, so said the guard when I gave him some side eye.

Bad drivers are why we can't have nice things (not just for #bikeDC, but for anyone).
