On this day in LFC history: 16 November 1968
The Reds travelled to Hillsborough on 16 November 1968 and beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. Chris Lawler and Ian Callaghan scored for Liverpool that afternoon.

Barnes v Rush... It seemed just unthinkable, yet it happened on 16 November 1996. Ian Rush playing against Liverpool. But now he was a Leeds United player and tried to score against the Reds.

Goals from Neil Ruddock and Steve McManaman gave Liverpool a 2-0 win at Elland Road.

Rest in peace, Ray Clemence.
Born on 5 August 1948, died on 15 November 2020

One of the greatest goalkeepers England has ever had, Ray was a true magician between the goalposts. Clemence made 665 first-team appearances at Liverpool and continued to play top-flight football until he was 40.

Ron Yeats was born on 15 November 1937 in Aberdeen. Liverpool FC signed him from Dundee United in the summer of 1961 and he instantly became an irreplaceable part of the Bill Shankly's great team. It took him less than half a year to become a club's captain!

Liverpool FC have played only ONE competitive game on 14 November in more than 50 years! The last one was a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United (1998) and the second last was a goalles draw with Coventry (1970), both at Anfield, while the last away was to TSV Munich in 1967.

Sir Roger Hunt and Ronnie Moran scored for the Reds in a 2-1 win over Arsenal on this day in 1962. Geoff Strong pulled one back 10 minutes before the final whistle bit it was not enough to seriously hurt the Reds.

Following an 8-0 win in the first leg, a 2-1 defeat in Munich wasn't considered an important issue by anyone around LFC😉
Ian Callaghan scored early in the game, but two goals from Wilfried Kohlars gave TSV a narrow win.

Despite coming 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Robbie Fowler in the 68th minute, the Reds lost 3-1.

Robbie Fowler scored twice in a 4-1 win in the League Cup 3rd round replay. Mark Wright and Jamie Redknapp were also on the scoresheet, with Shaun Newton bagging a consolation goal for the visitors.

RIP Louis Bimpson, 14 May 1929 - 13 November 2021
Louis was a big and strong forward who always felt difficult to mark by the opposing defenders. After signing from an amateur side Burscough, he scored 39 goals in 102 first-team appearances between 1953 and 1959.

From 3-0 down at half-time to 3-3: Emile Heskey, Vladimir Smicer and Michael Owen all scored after the interval when Liverpool played in Basel on 12 November 2002, but it was not enough to secure a qualification to the Champions League second group stage. LFC finished a point behind Basel.

Chris Kirkland, David Thompson and Craig Bellamy played for Coventry that afternoon, with Thompson scoring their consolation goal.

John Toshack became a Red 55 years ago today. Liverpool FC signed a strong forward, great header of the ball and someone who never stopped bothering the defenders whenever he played. Tosh netted 96 goals in 247 appearances for the club, spending more than 7 years at Anfield.
