This vuln was in the code for... years? Then it was reported and it took the nextjs team two weeks to triage it? The nextjs team is not exactly beating the allegations.

That said, guzzling fructose does seem to be harmful, but I don't think it's believed to be the main cause.

There's this common folk belief about type 2 diabetes that it's caused by eating too much sugar, but afaict that's not the mainstream view among people who actually research it. The mainstream view is that it's caused by excess calories, fat (especially visceral fat), and genetics.
