ACAB including Light Pollution. I don't like people who like to torture people.
Thank you for clarifying.

The only reported car break in found preceding the lights was at 3pm, before service, during the day.

So, of course to them lights at night keep out intruders. 😵‍💫

This was the first couple of nights and they wouldn't turn them off either.

I used to SLEEP so hard and so good.

I looked forward to getting into bed every night and waking up to daylight.

Once I had to blackout at night, the work to uncover for sunlight...

The begging for help and being told I don't matter, and dismissed, and the money & time lost and/or spent fighting to SLEEP is just as traumatic and the sleep deprivation and inability to rest.

A few of my neighbors are parishioners and have complained as well and signed letters to demand more responsible lighting. They were ignored as well.

If the city says, no maximum for lighting so no violations the church gets to say there's nothing wrong with the lights.

Did that too. They blamed the street light.

Had others call and email the Archdiocese. They were ignored as well.

No. it's not justified to punish neighbors with constant over night lighting for something that happens during daylight hours.

The people around still have to exist.

A car break in during evening liturgy. Evening liturgy ends on Saturday around 5pm.

The City has a minimum and enforced it on a parking lot.

Even signage is on from dusk to dawn when ordinances say light at a minimum and off between 12a-6a.

Did that, provided the letters signed by residents as well. They already surveyed other residents who also complained.

Note that he wasn't pursuing repose, health or safety, but the higher burden of proof.

I'd already been hospitalized for issues related to sleep deprivation.

I used blackout blinds both vertically and horizontally, as well as curtains. Foiled over my porch door, as well as install blackout shades on 4 other windows.

Sealing and unsealing my apartment every day before dusk and after dawn. In the winter I just foiled over my front windows.

I did that first, 2 years ago, in person, phone calls, emails to the church, neighbors emailing & calling, signing letters for more responsible lighting... nothing.. just ignored.

I've contacted many over the past 2 years and all told me no.

City won't issue violations.
