Just spoted some pigeons hanging out on a Waitrose sign.

But can't stop thinking why the pigeon on the middle point of the 'W' hasn't just jumped over the top of the 's'?

Prime pigeon real estate is surely the cosy snugs inside the 'a' and 'o', though...

The Daily Mail, Daily Express, Times and Daily Telegraph are ALL carrying this two-page advert prominently within their news pages today.

That tells you a LOT about these newspapers - and the £££ available to Farage

My brilliant Carbon Brief colleague @drsimevans.carbonbrief.org was "highly commended" at the prestigious Society of Editors journalism awards in London last night in the category called "Environmental Journalism – National"

He was up against stiff competition from Guardian, Sunday Times, BBC etc

The right-wing press is predictably freaking out that the UK govt is going to - wait for it - improve teaching in schools on climate change and media literacy.

Ignore their frothing and read what the curriculum review by Prof Becky Francis actually says...

Really saddened to hear about Jane Goodall.

Back in 2007 I sent her a copy of The Final Call, my new book about the impact of tourism, on the off-chance she might be interested.

I never really expected a reply given her relentless schedule and priorities.

To my delight, she sent me this...

Carbon Brief featured on ITV's Good Morning Britain today when Laura Tobin used one of our charts to factcheck Donald Trump's false claims about climate change

This is what the UK's opposition Conservative party now believes to be a good use of parliamentary time.

From a former energy minister, no less. (Albeit one who was known to be a climate sceptic in that role.)

I guess this is him beating a path towards defecting to Reform.

Tragic.

This isn't online, but BBC News's climate editor Justin Rowlatt has just sent this to subscribers of his 'Future Earth' newsletter:

"The bottom line: wind has played a small role in this latest [energy bill] price increase, but other factors - especially global gas prices - matter more."

The irritating policy of BBC News editors to turn on/off comments under certain articles is a pretty clear example of editorialising, imo.

There is no clear logic to the policy, other than to encouraging trolling under certain topics.

BBC really should be avoiding perception it is doing this

Eh? According to UN's website, the US is still technically a party signed up to Paris Agreement.

It looks like Trump admin hasn't yet got around to formally reversing Biden's "instrument of acceptance" registered with the UN in Jan 2021.

Does this matter, legally?

Pretty shocking - but, sadly, not surprising these days – that the Times has simply repeated Trump's false claims in its reporting. Not even a hint of factchecking his statements.

Might as well have just published a verbatim transcript of what he said. Would have been more useful to the reader

The slight flaw in their claim is that GB News is very clearly not a news channel.

A torrent of highly partial views, yes.

News, no

It's a views channel, plain and simple.
