Why are rooftop solar and home batteries more expensive in the US than in other countries?

The cost of permitting and interconnection.

There are tools like meter socket adapters that could help.

Congrats to @renewableheat.bsky.social for relentless, organizing, brilliant political leadership, and spot-on messaging that helped END a compulsory subsidy for fracked gas that we all had to pay. Namely the cost of building the last 100 feet of gas pipelines.

Last week, 200+ New Yorkers gathered in Albany to urge @governor.ny.gov: Repeal the 100 foot rule and lower our energy bills! #CleanerHeatLowerBills #HeatpumpsNotPipelines

@Governor.ny.gov has called the repeal of the 100-foot rule to her desk, giving her 10 days to sign it.

We urge her to act: repealing the rule would move NY away from outdated gas systems, cut emissions, and advance a cleaner, more affordable energy future for all.
