After a brief talk, she shook my hand and then reached for a hug, saying Merry Christmas. I am a broken monster of a man, unfit for public life but such basic humanity is enough nourishment for a month of meals. A warm blanket in a cold life. (And she was thus way with others too! Not just me.)

Yes I drove 2 hours into Dirty Jersey to meet a handful of actors. Yes I met Rachael Leigh Cook again. Yes she said “Oh my god, I haven’t thought of this in forever!” and then proceeds to describe in exacting detail how the film was shot on leftover film stock from Spielberg’s Amistad
