Thanks for all the birthday wishes and shares of the Slippery Creatures sale! I had a lovely day involving an entertainingly bad exhibition, a really delightful Booksellers Association social where I met loads of wonderful indie booksellers, and an unexpected birthday present from Tor!

I’ve now finished Mr Collins in Love by @leewelchwriter.bsky.social and loved every moment of it. I’m a Pride and Prejudice fan but this re-visioning was a very kind book, no bullying behaviours. I’ve always liked Mr Collins.

This was a great way to spend #AceWeek as well.

Highly recommend.

I’ve always believed Mr Collins to be Autistic representation and this book goes beyond the surface stereotypes.

Just finished The Bayou by @ardenpowell.bsky.social - delighted that I bought it on a whim when looking for more gay southern gothic after Summer Sons. Very vibey and morally ambiguous. An excellent Halloween treat, and I will for sure be reading again.

Took Bess out to Makara to find the selkies had built a house on the beach.

Reminder that I set a contemporary m/m romance in this wild place (no selkies in it tho).
