Finally, the big news is that inflation should now settle at 2% from April. This will be the first time this has happened since before the pandemic. This is good news and a big part of this is driven by the government's energy bill discount (which is a well targeted measure).

This is also how every call to "slash red tape" or "deregulate" should be handled.

Regulations can always work better or be streamlined, but 98% of the time their purpose is still valid and the right wing clowns bloviating about it are the last people on earth you'd trust to iterate implementation.
"So will it be the same act but with a different label?"

Victoria Derbyshire humiliates Zia Yusuf on Reform UK's plan to scrap the Equalities Act, because, as she reads each of the things from the Equalities act he confirms they'll still be protected 🤷‍♂️

Nigel Farage lashes out at a FT journalist and refuses to answer the question.

Is this how Reform UK would ignore media questions if they got into government?

To reiterate this point: during the Q&A Farage dismissed very arrogantly a perfectly fair question from the brilliant Anna Gross of the FT and then took the piss out of the paper. If you want to persuade people that you don’t have predilections towards bullying it was not ideal. It was grim.
One element of recent Reform press conferences seems to me to be Nigel Farage believing his own hype, as it were, being particularly bullish and, at times, glib with critical questions. This could be risky for him as it's not always 100% appealing.

This person does not understand the idea of a counterfactual. It's not true that the '4%' imagines a Britain that 'avoided every global shock, and followed a perfectly smooth pre-2016 trend forever.' It judges that on average, in all scenarios, shock or no shock, we'd eventually be 4% poorer.

I like the government pivot to reminding voters that Farage is an avowed enemy of NATO & Europe & an ardent admirer of Vladimir Putin, who routinely orders the murders of critics & opponents. It is politically effective & morally essential.
