Mamdani’s canvassers must not have been able to get into Peggy Noonan’s building b/c she has obviously never met any of his vols.
There will be some interesting aspects of his rule. Mr. Mamdani didn’t just have a million votes; he had 100,000 volunteers. The young who supported him won’t disappear; they’ll do everything they can to help him. Many are underemployed, for many reasons. They’ll volunteer at the public grocery stores. They’ll make lettuce chic. They’ll haul sacks of sweet potatoes through Park Slope, and their hedge-fund fathers will say, “I sent him to Brown for this?” But a lot of us will be moved and cheer them on.

It also means Mamdani doesn’t owe a thing to the interest groups that are used to having a say in how NYC is governed. That gives him a historically unprecedented opportunity to take bold steps. It will be fascinating to watch.

What truly rattles the political Establishment is that Mamdani is leading a potent youth-driven movement - one that ran circles around the traditional Democratic political machinery and threatens to replace it.

It's not even that they should be ashamed. They should just be embarrassed.

"I don't think that's gonna work for long, Tamman said in an interview. "I think it's likely that he has as much support as he's gonna get, and that his campaign knows that more exposure just heightens the risk of people attacking him, and him getting defensive or saying the wrong thing. So they're trying to kinda fly above it all."

The latest outrage involves a popular protest chant against Israel, "Globalize the Intifada." Mamdani is not under attack for using this phrase himself, being there is no evidence that he ever has, but for pointing out in response to a question about it that "intifada" is simply the Arabic term for revolt or uprising - and that the Holocaust Museum in Washington in fact used the term in Arabic-language materials about the Warsaw Ghetto uprisings. For this, Mamdani was promptly raked over the coals for "comparing" Palestinian uprisings to that of the Warsaw Ghetto, which in what feels like a pattern is something he did not actually do.

Only a Cuomo campaign would rely on “paid volunteers” for GOTV. Are they actors? pretending to be volunteers?

Mr. Cuomo is relying on union members and paid volunteers to get supporters - who tend to be older and could be worried about the sweltering weather-to the polls.

I only look at polls in the aggregate, and then only at trends. I always suspected Cuomo had a 1st round ceiling that was below 50%, and the recent polling trends bear that out. His numbers are trending flat or down. Mamdani’s numbers have risen sharply over the last month.

Because while it should be disqualifying that he is credibly alleged to have leered and pawed and spoken inappropriately and threatened nine women in his employ, he didn't just leer and paw and speak inappropriately to and threaten them. That's how he behaved with everyone! Over decades! And while a savagely unjust white patriarchal political culture may have conditioned us to confuse that kind of behavior with effectiveness, Cuomo was not in fact very effective as governor.
