Now is the time for the New Jersey Legislature to take action on nursing homes.

Bill S1948 would inject some much-needed transparency into the relationships between exploitative owners of nursing homes and their related companies.
Headline after headline makes it clear: Medicaid-funded nursing homes face deep, systemic issues.

Exploitative nursing-home owners have built sophisticated systems that extract wealth from taxpayers through related party schemes that enrich themselves while hollowing out care.

Too many of NJ’s Medicaid funded nursing homes are failing residents and wasting taxpayer dollars.

Our residents deserve to live in safe environments.

It’s time for the state to treat this as the urgent crisis it is.

I am spending as much time as possible these days working to defeat Senator Scutari's bill that would undermine the Office of the State Comptroller.

I am outraged at what I heard a week ago.

Sens. Beach and Burzichelli baselessly attacked OSC even after their own witnesses praised our work.

Senate Bill S4924 would prevent OSC investigations like this.

It's a bad bill for NJ.

Sincere question: What will it take for public schools and local governments to recognize insurance brokers' conflicts of interest?

For the Legislature to take steps to stop the hemorrhaging of public funds wasted because of conflicts of interest?

🔹 This is a bill that no New Jersey residents asked for, except the people who are upset by the powerful being held accountable.

🔹When you can’t give a bill an honest, open dialogue, it suggests you have something to cover up.

When watchdogs lose subpoena power, taxpayers lose transparency and accountability.

A bill to strip OSC's investigatory powers isn’t “streamlining”—it’s an attack on oversight in a state with a long history of political waste and backroom deals.
