Editor of the Latinx Archive Speculative Trilogy: Latinx Rising, Speculative Fiction for Dreamers, and Not Your Papi's Utopia. Associate Professor of Chicana/o Studies at UNM. Active agent in the Speculative Detective Agency.
Xicanxfuturism is a new and fierce codex that editors Scott Duncan and Jenny Irizary have expertly painted with art, theory, and narrative. It's a lucha libre with migrant futurisms, Chicanx Manifestos, and gritty esperanzas on the mat as they face off against colonialism, racism, and capitalism.

Many years ago Richie and I had a meeting with an artist and the artist was kind of rude and the project didn't work out. It happens. But then Richie suggested we create our own performance of the Alien Space Queen de Puerto Rico.
And here we are now making a super cool book! tinyurl.com/2x4rp52h

In Alex Hernandez's short story "El Gato Gris," Agent Araceli Turey’s first clue in solving the La Palmita Nursing Home murders comes from a psychometric vision, in which she arrives at a 1930s nightclub in Havana headlined by the devilish trickster El Gato Gris.
