Sequel logos done! (plus, I've straightened the ZUKUNFT line a bit) #bttf #BackToTheFuture #ZurückInDieZukunft #logos

A few more variants. The last version is somewhat inspired by the one appearing at the beginning of part 2 - so I guess I'l need to add the sequel arrow and roman numeral eventually.

My big box from @inklingwood
.bsky.social has finally arrived! And what a beauty it is. That box is only surpassed by the sheer amount of stuff inside, which I'll have to refrain from digging through until playing the game.

What an amazing Kickstarter. Congrats to David & Sophie! Next up: The game.

My reconstruction of the German #BackToTheFuture logo. In my opinion, a stunningly good localization of one of the greatest movie logos ever. With a bit of luck on their side, they were able tp keep the connected CK and the arrow poking the K.

When I did the BTTF:TG key art, it was supposed to be used for the poster and DVD cover, so I built it at one-sheet size with only little extra meat. When the console ports required a Blu-ray sized version, I had to go back and paint an extension to the left. Should have thought of that before!

A camping trip across #Scotland in 2007 was definitely one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had!

I'm currently building a #GeometryNodes bend modifier in #Blender that slices the mesh only where it's needed for the bend. That way, stuff like folding paper multiple times becomes easier. Unfortunately, slicing in GN is only possible via booleans, which is always kinda messy topology-wise.

Happy #BackToTheFuture day!

In 2010, Telltale Games asked me to recreate Drew Struzan's iconic poster for the game. Even though I've never done an illustration job of this scale, it was too good an offer to pass on.

Realized as a combination of 3D renderings, physical pencil and digital painting.

I always thought this was alluding to Dave's modern day haircut, but now I realized that he was already starting to disappear from the photo (head first), and Marty as well wasn't picking up on this line.

Man, a movie that keeps on giving. Also, still a banger Silvestri soundtrack!

It's probably a good time to give the documentary "Drew: The Man Behind the Poster" by Erik Sharke, another watch. So sad to see Drew leave this world, but he will forever be remembered by his work, which made art accessible to everyone through pop-culture.

Fully agreed! As a teenager, reading tons of EU novels, his painting of Carrie Fisher for the cover of Dave Wolverton's "The Courtship of Princess Leia" was especially enticing for me...

For studying Drew I can just urge everyone remotely interested in his work to track down his DVD "Conceiving and Creating the Hellboy Movie Poster Art". It's a detailed breakdown of his techniques, with a very layed-back narration by the master himself. It's so damn good and pure inspiration!

Also, the designs for Coruscant were still based on old Ralph McQuarrie concepts.

Hell yeah!

The Reforged version of the first game was a fantastic remaster of an already great game. So glad to see the sequel getting the same treatment (if not more than that!).

Character cards, included in the FM Towns version of #ZakMcKracken and the Alien Mindbenders. Painted by Hikaru Yuzuki.

Never mind the typo in Leslie Bennett's name.

Hard to beat the marker paintings of MI2, though.

I'm still baffled that we got a brand-new Bud Spencer & Terence Hill artwork by the amazing Renato Casaro for "Slaps and Beans 2". May he rest in peace.
