It's probably a good time to give the documentary "Drew: The Man Behind the Poster" by Erik Sharke, another watch. So sad to see Drew leave this world, but he will forever be remembered by his work, which made art accessible to everyone through pop-culture.

Fully agreed! As a teenager, reading tons of EU novels, his painting of Carrie Fisher for the cover of Dave Wolverton's "The Courtship of Princess Leia" was especially enticing for me...

For studying Drew I can just urge everyone remotely interested in his work to track down his DVD "Conceiving and Creating the Hellboy Movie Poster Art". It's a detailed breakdown of his techniques, with a very layed-back narration by the master himself. It's so damn good and pure inspiration!

I still have my parents' number memorized (which they are still using, and have used since I was born), as well as my late grandparents' ones. Plus a couple of friends' numbers. But it helped that local phone numbers in Germany usually only had 5 digits.

It's the reverse "I don't want to be the idiot who got fooled by AI". So they preemptively assume everything must be AI, so that, whenever they are right with that assumption, they can say, "See, I knew it right away!"

It is SO good. Unfortunately, it's noticeably running out of steam in the last two seasons. Same happened with 30 Rock, which is also peak comedy.

My main fear is all the problems arising from the ability to create images of any person you want doing anything you can imagine. With a kid currently in second grade, I don't even want to imagine the forms of mobbing coming out of this.

Man, I was so hyped for this game! I must have watched its wonky little trailer a hundred times. People today don't realize how big a deal it was in 1997 to have fully 3D environments and characters, especially in a Star Wars game.

On the other hand, Legacy's design shows a very clear understanding of how UI design has changed since the first movie. Everything has become less colorful, while getting the "dark mode" and glass aesthetics of MacOS and Windows. That being said, I'd love to see a modern VFX shot of the old design.
