I will argue that peak LiveJournal had more reach than peak Second Life. No one ever thought they needed a corporate/ org presence on Lj, which is one of the things that made it feel authentic back in the day.

I will argue that peak LiveJournal had more reach than peak Second Life. No one ever thought they needed a corporate/ org presence on Lj, which is one of the things that made it feel authentic back in the day.
I remember so much hype about SL as the Next Big Thing & that libraries, universities & organizations needed to get on board. And today I checked Wikipedia to see the reach at its peak: "The maximum concurrency (number of avatars inworld) recorded was set at 88,200 in the first quarter of 2009"
