It's been a bit wet today, rain gauge ticked up to 60mm this evening.

It's just been non-stop all day really #StormClaudia

I hate that I still sometimes look at twitter.

Someone says that the BBC has brought them nothing, whilst having a Username, Profile picture and header from a BBC property, written by someone who got their break at BBC, and wouldn't exist without the BBC.

I've got the best idea for the BBC Director General and CEO of BBC News roles...

I hear these two are free.

Other than the schedule change, is the only way to tell they're in DR the very small dot on their DOG?

After Only Connect went in on the NYT stealing their Connecting Wall format the other week, it seems they're trying to offer an olive branch this morning.

Got 3/3 this week, on the (now regular) video games bonus questions this week.

Nice easy one.

I think Sky News handled it better, the #Emergencyalert goes off during headlines, quickly silenced, addressed and moved on.

This week, just when they announce an Enhanced Edition, we get a Shenmue related question on University Challenge.

Seems to be just this second fixed. That's an hour and a half after the fault started.

Virgin has acknowledged this issue on their forums

Virgin Media's own forums are showing it's a nationwide failure of their TV service.
August 15, 2025 at 8:05 PM
I went to the bird site so that you don't have too.

Weirdly they first only acknowledged an issue with Sky Sports, before upgrading the severity to the whole TV service.

Surely they're not alerted to the issue by Twitter users moaning about the football, but actually have an internal system.

It seems like virgin media TV is broke for a lot of people (according to a search I did the bird site to see if it was just me ).
This is what l'm getting on mine. Looks similar all over, with a lot of people trying to watch the first footie game of the season.

What an amazing test match. Up there with some of the best.

Glad I was there for the match at Edgbaston, but imagining being at The Oval this morning.

I really thought England were going to do it for a minute there, it could've gone either way.
