It would depend heavily on how it was implemented. It's not a terrible idea, though. For example, my house is still entry-level, but thanks to growth, my property is expensive. Taxing both individually could more accurately tax me for the value of my assets.

it is wild to me that the city and associated entities operate with such an institutional fear of pushback in the present that they will sign up for exponentially worse outcomes in the future - just to try not to get yelled at today.
