With its mix of politics and frivolity, this is an ideal episode to use as a gateway drug to get friends and family hooked on Quiet Riot. If you each get one extra person to listen, you can double our reach.

Go on. Be our dealer. Do it now. First hit is free.

It’s so critical that this Labour govt makes people’s lives measurably better. The last 14 years of Toryism have been pretty horrific and we need to see real change urgently. But surely we can hold them to account without helping the right to tear them down. Because then what?

Now if the Telegraph could join the dots with its own hostile rhetoric. This isn't hypothetical, it has been studied for years, anti-immigration policies and politics undermine countries, whereas positive policies and politics can actually help boost economies.

Angela Rayner on Grenfell: “Greed and deregulation were put before safety”

Deregulation is not some buccaneering good as Tories would have you believe.
Deregulation means removing our protections so that the rich and the powerful can take risks and exploit us.
Let’s not help them do that.

A brief 🧵 about Brexit denialism suffocating Britain (originally posted on X)

1/19 As a psychologist, I am all too aware that, when faced with emotionally challenging issues and threats, facing them can be very scary and the temptation is to avoid. Can entire nations act similarly? Yes.

Tim Leunig in the FT is right about Brexit.

But it’s far worse.

Brexit ripped us out of our $19 trillion GDP domestic market & reduced us to one a 6th of it, thumped our economy, fractured the UK, threw our governance into chaos, & generated perilous geopolitical effects.

A🧵/1.
