When you grew up being the person in the house who is relatively regulated & responsible, you internalize the belief that when bad things happen it's somehow your responsibly & you're in trouble for it-- even when you're years & miles removed from that house & those people.

Adults losing their sh*t can be one of the biggest triggers for CPTSD survivors. It can send us straight into emotional flashback to see an adult-- whether we know or have anything to do w/ them or not-- melting down or lashing out at a vulnerable person or animal.
