This is part of the “art” of medicine.

A beautiful painting is a combination of the right canvas, paint, artist, lighting, & subject matter.

Without the correct version of any one of these things, it may technically be *something* but it isn’t what it could & should be.

People are not interchangeable, regardless of how equivalent their qualifications may seem on paper.

Some people are irreplaceable.

Maybe not to the organization, but definitely to the people they work with every day.

HOWEVER, I would like to remind everyone {cough}admin{cough} that this DOES NOT apply to all things in medicine.

For example, people.

“Has your Pain arrived yet?”

“Yes, but I’m still working on last month’s Pain.”

“I always keep all my old Pain. I know I’ll probably never use it, I just can’t seem to let it go.”

I know some OR charge nurses who might argue that I *AM* the horrors (or at least my add-ons are).

Either way, I too persist.

Also, I love other specialties’ journal names bc they can legitimately say things like “Another study in Blood” & it isn’t the name of an Edgar Allan Poe story
