That process informs the “Discover” feed which runs on an algo. Certain feeds developed by Bluesky do run algos. The “Following” does not. Your suggestion does make content more visible to others in various ways. Feeds are opt in, by pinning/unpinning and you can make your own feeds/algos

Won't work for the intended pupose. Posts appear in chronological order in your Following feed. There is no algorithm. Create a list called "Favorites" and add your favorites to that. Pin the list as a feed. Part of value proposition of this App is the experience customization.
