I just do it for my open source projects because I like the aesthetics. I do all of my development with normal incremental commits and then squash before my first release. It's quite dumb but I love how this looks.

PersistentKeyValueKit is a great component of a state management or UI framework: it lets one build type-safe APIs that can take keys and stores. I have a whole settings framework built on top of it that makes producing these screens very easy in SwiftUI. BooleanSettingRow, etc.

One of my favorite features of PersistentKeyValueKit is its debug keys: mutable in DEBUG builds, but immutable otherwise. They’re perfect for developer menus, offering a little extra assurance.

The short of why I made PersistentKeyValueKit is:

- I want to easily control how custom types are persisted.
- I want to define static accessors for strongly-typed keys.
