I am not and was not comparing whole/raw numbers. I was saying many other countries have a greater proportion of immigrants in their populations; the ones I mentioned have immigrants who are close to 30% of the populations. End of convo with you.

Specifics still lacking. We have a high raw number of immigrants in a big population & a large physical country; many countries have a higher proportion; Australia, Switzerland and Canada have much higher percentage of immigrants in the population. Can’t respond to a vague “least enforcement”.

You fit into a category that allowed you to enter. I don’t know which, nor does it matter. Yes, the system has lots of hoops and is ridiculously complex. But no, there is no line to which ANYONE can join and sooner or later get to the front and enter.
December 21, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Could you even try to be specific as to your statement about US having the “most relaxed immigration laws in the world”? What criteria are you using to compare immigration laws? Each country chooses to allow entry based on that country’s economic needs, racial or religious prejudices, and values.
December 21, 2025 at 11:22 PM
There is no line. Nor has there ever been. There are complex categories of who may enter, stay permanently or temporarily; a different set of categories for who may become a citizen. The categories change based upon the prejudices of Congress. Learn the history and law before spouting nonsense.

And, oh, some don’t have any lettering on their vests, or have POLICE with no further identification. These goons/thugs/Gestapo are all part of a paramilitary force following the whims of the leader, not the rule of law.
December 11, 2025 at 3:53 AM
The confusion is deliberate. ICE’s Enforcement & Removal Operations (ERO) vests "POLICE" , sometimes with "ICE," "DHS," or "HSI" in smaller print. Customs & Border Protection vests: POLICE. U.S. BORDER PATROL, or "CBP.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) vests with "POLICE" and "HSI

So God’s Grace is cruel to others or doesn’t shine on others. It ain’t God’s grace protecting you.
December 7, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Yes, any one of us could be next. But that is only one, fairly selfish, reason. Another reason is that it is wrong to allow the Gestapo to take anyone in violation of basic human rights, whether or not “we” might ever be targeted. We each must protect all people, no exceptions.

Trump is chipping away at birthright citizenship, trying to exclude only children born in US to mothers who are here without legal status or here temporarily ( such as as a student, worker, tourist) if the father is not a citizen or a lawful permanent resident. Chip chip chip. Not toss it all.

#2. Each of us must take ACTION…not just post here in surprise and horror…to bring about the needed changes. Starting with enforcing our Constitution but then by making democracy and justice for all meaningful.

#1. He is our president whether or not you voted for him. 2. We WISH we were better than this. We are not, nor have we ever been. Our government has done horrible things to: tribes, black enslaved people, Chinese laborers, Japanese American sent to US concentration camps. (can’t list them all)

Another way to support our Somali neighbors is to support Somali owned businesses, especially when many in the community are fearful of venturing out EVEN if they are citizens as ICE targets racial identity. Our support will help these businesses survive.

Perhaps those for war in VZ should themselves enlist..I mean, why should the children bear the sins of the fathers?
December 3, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Oh, expecting GOP to read, like books? Wow, so optimistic. Perhaps they could look at a timeline or even a wikipedia article about US military interventions in Central and South America? Timeline for Latin American "activities" gives a sense of our greed. faculty.chass.ncsu.edu/slatta/hi216....

#2. See also wars in Kuwait (1990 support against the invasion by Iraq), Iran (1953 CIA coup when government nationalized oil fields) and Iraq (Gulf war and 2003 invasion) all really involved claims to the oil fields.... Invading to grab things we want is a US favored activity.....so many examples.
December 3, 2025 at 9:05 PM
#1 The US historically makes war with countries that have resources the US wants, looking just at resources such as oil not land. For example, in the late 1800s/ early 1900s, the US invaded a variety of Latin American countries on behalf of US corporations extracting rubber, minerals, timber, crops.

Our Somali community in Minnesota is a large, vibrant, hardworking community, the largest Somali community in the US. 80- 90% are US citizens; over 50% of those were born here. All of us need to support our family/friends/neighbors. Please post positive support on mainstream social media.
