FWIW I’m not a big fan of Borrell or this roster build. If trends continue, I hope they move Uzuni during the WC break (since Vazquez won’t play much before then anyways) and sign a DP 10 and TAM 6. But viewed holistically this is a much better attack than last year, so the negativity is weird to me

Do you not credit his improved numbers in a better league this year? Seems plausible a young guy would continue to improve.

Also, does it not matter that Austin has improved chance creation around the roster? (See attached). Or is your position they NEED a 10? bsky.app/profile/socc...
So to follow up in this idea: some quick napkin math.

xA of Nelson, Rosales, and Facu Torres per 90, minus the xA of the guys they replace, is a net gain of 0.27.

Over a full season, that would add up to 9xG, putting Austin tied for 12th in the league w/NYFC last season.

So no, Austin has not NEEDED a 10. A 10 is a clean and simple solution if all rlse stayed the same. Austin NEEDED more playmaking, and one totally legitimate solution is to get more playmaking from the team as a whole, through better roster building and stronger players on average at all positions.

I’m okay using the next few months when they’re probably playing a 4-3-3 to see if Duber/Sabo/Ilie can step up. But if none of those guys improves by the summer, I really want them to use a substantial amount of TAM on a 6

I know you have watched his box scores. You should watch his games. Teams constantly cheat over to his side because Austin has no wide threat on the left and he still makes things happen (but his teammates don't crash the box). Austin has massive roster build problems. He isn't the issue

What are you talking about? In the five prior games (including four he was healthy for) he: started at LAFC, didn't travel for SJ (injury), started vs. LAFC, started vs. STL, started vs. Nashville

Bukari didn't lose his starting job. He was injured.

That will happen on every corner she referees for the rest of her career and she’ll never call it again. She gave Nashville a free 80% chance at a goal in the second half of a tied cup final not b/c she thought it was a PK, but because Dani didn’t listen to her. That his horrendous refereeing

The Stuver propaganda will continue until he gets a call-up for the Ecuador game at Q2

Re: keeper, is there a reason Stuver is never in the convo given the options? I figure it’s age but he should be fine for next year. And it seems like he’d bring consistency, leadership, etc.

If you want to know why the shallow identity politics of Democrats and corporations failed its because they tried to adopt the packaging of the left without ever adopting its substance. All politics is identity politics, but identity can never be your only politics

Wow so we should be hearing about signings any day now

Also spent a chunk of the season starting 3 midfielders but playing a 4-4-2. Maybe I didn’t watch Dallas enough but I expected the gameplan to be more cohesive than whatever this is (and to not change every other game)

Well it took 15 games but you win
