I hate this month so much. I'm already barely keeping my head above water financially, emotionally, and energy-wise. December just drags me right under and highlights some of the things I cannot have in life.

My first thought was, "Why would any adult ask why another adult isn't drinking? That's so weird!", but then I remember my ex-inlaws and how hard it was to ask for anything non-alcoholic and . . . yeah. They'd just keep offering different alcoholic beverages until I went to the kitchen myself.

The season highlights a lot of unhappy realities for me. I usually manage a very sad bare minimum, but I at least try and get us out to see a few lights.

Awesome suggestion! I haven't been, but my kids (14 and 16) have with friends/relatives (as young as 12) and they love it!

I struggle through the holidays and am glad when they're over, but I put in the effort for the kids (they're teens, but they still need it)
