Growing up evangelical, I was conditioned to put a husband's needs before mine, but it was nowhere near the conditioning our moms' generation got to deny every single need they had over the wants of their husbands & children. It makes me angry.

Fuckin' patriarchy.

Sometimes police violence is the story but more often resistance is the story and telling it in a way that makes police the main actors strips agency from people fighting back, reproduces the toxic white myth of innocence, and keeps us from learning about tactical choices folks are making

This is one of the things I'm dreading. My parents live in a 5 bedroom home with an attached mother-in-law unit, full basement & attic & every room is full of stuff. The 2-car garage is so full they can't fit any cars in it. I don't know what I'm going to do when they have to go into care.

Spouse doesn't want to start Season 5 until all episodes are out, which will be Dec. 30, so I feel like 40 hours before then is doable. Just not sure I want to rewatch bad things happening to Sean Aston!

For the trip home, Google Maps tried to tell me to walk my bike up a huge staircase on an incredibly steep hill. As soon as I saw the stairs I noped out & went over 1 block to Weller, which was steep but I could get up it on the bike in the highest assist setting.

After the movie, I went to the Goodwill on Dearborn to see if I could find a heavier raincoat. The answer was no. 😢 Looks like I'll have to buy new.

It's only in tiny theaters because it has to have a theatrical release to be eligible for any Academy awards. But Netflix wants people to subscribe to their service, so they don't want to put it in too many theaters.

I dream of the day someone will file a lawsuit against the City of Seattle (& Sound Transit) for the public health hazard caused by not having public restrooms.
