Install week. I’ve been working hard for the last three months to develop a new show representing the moment we are in. Art is for the masses, it should be accessible, creating space for conversation and ideas, pushing the envelope and saying what needs to be said.

Joy is resistance.

Today I was to describing the materials I use in my art work. The question that followed, “is your work about bondage culture?” I replied no, well, kind of the bondage of our oppressive system. Currently I feel like I have a red ball gag in my mouth thanks to American stupidity & unchecked misogyny.

Have you ever heard of drunk tank pink? It’s a bubblegum pink, that calms the nervous system. In the 80’s, they painted the inside of the drunk tanks DTP, it calmed aggressive inmates down. I guess instead of painting the town red, we should maybe paint the town drunk tank pink.
