I chose Nikon (in 2008) because aa couple of photographers whose work I like used Nikon, and I’ve been happy so I’ve had no reason to switch. IMHO any brand is pretty good now so I would suggest getting something that feels good in your hands, that feels comfortable, that you’ll want to hold & use.

Not really. For me it’s more about no wind, I’m looking for perfectly still water.
