This is one of my favorite photographs that I've taken in winter, a sunrise at Bryce Canyon National Park. The best part? I was the only person there that morning as the -10 temp kept the crowds away.

Not my normal subject matter, but I had a lot of fun taking some photos of this rock climber while wandering around Moab this past October. Felt good to get out of my comfort zone and do something different.

BRRR... The onset of colder weather has me thinking back to photos I've taken in winter over the years. This was taken while exploring in the Rio Grande River Gorge near Pilar a few years back.

I love taking photos of reflections, the dance of moving around to get just the right angle... This was taken a few years ago while wandering in Arches National Park.

I like a scene with layers, light and shadow, green and gold, cliffs and sky... Took this photo of the Brazos Cliffs this past October while doing some wandering on a beautiful fall day.

Yesterday I was reading "Orbital" by Samantha Harvey when I came across this line on page 2: "The Milky Way is a smoking trail of gunpowder shot through a satin sky." It made me think of this photo I took last August in Monument Valley - and I was immediately pulled into the story.

Woke up to our first real snow of the winter in Santa Fe, so I thought I'd stick with that them and share one of my favorite wintery photos I've taken, from a visit to Canyonlands National Park back in February 2019.

I was digging through the archives yesterday and found another set of photos from the VLA (from March 2019) that I had completely forgotten about. Always interesting to dig around the old files, you never know what you'll find.
