For reference on Squawks. I might be off on this, but at the very least, the K. Rool gut stance has emerged as a neat recurring thing for him. It’s how he’s posed in his main Emerald Rush statue too. (Another recurring thing - his arm-folding Smash entrance being mirrored in his Planet Core statue!)

In all seriousness, Donkey Kong Bananza won when it got nominated for Game of the Year, no matter which title gaming outlets end up awarding. The positive exposure on a big stage where Nintendo once got mocked for showing playable Cranky will work wonders for DK’s perception.
