The tree on the left at the Rookery is down, with several displaced nests. Any Minneapolis birders know when it happened? Photo on right was mid-April when herons, egrets, and cormorants were building nests. There were still lots of birds there today.

I went to the May Day pro union rally at MSP airport. Peggy Flanagan made an appearance. A picket line, fun chants, lots of union representation. It was great!

Visited the rookery this afternoon, north of downtown Minneapolis, where great blue herons, egrets, and cormorants nest. There are over 100 nests and lots of busy birds. Very cool.

Today I walked all the way across south Minneapolis from Lake Hiawatha to Cedar Lake. The air was mild and it felt so good to be outside. I saw this quiet view of Lake Harriet.
