I'm pretty sure academic magnets in other cities, like some competitive private schools, don't do class rank beyond the top two, which makes sense to me. It is a much less useful metric than in a traditional public school. Ugh.

I got a card yesterday from a family whose connection is that my ex taught one of their kids six or seven years ago. We’re completely estranged and he lives somewhere out west. I don’t have an address. But that’s a weird thing to write a stranger so… 😬

My dad had a shingles outbreak in his eyes (mid 60s) and it was incredibly uncomfortable. I can't imagine accidentally setting that off while trying to recover from cataract surgery too.
