The Clean Water Act is a bedrock environmental law. Weakened by the Supreme Court. But indeed: Still vital.

With some good, hard work, we can revitalize this law for the enduring benefit of our country’s waters and *all* living things.

Every. Single. One. Of. Us.
The Clean Water Act became law 51 years ago today. Vital to protecting our rivers, lakes, and streams—and every community that depends on safe, clean, and abundant water.

Super-quick take while reading the ruling:

This is going to be a much bigger deal for challenges to *other* Trump policies than to birthright citizenship (where it's likely that lower courts will still be able to block the policy on a nationwide basis even after this ruling).

*That's* the import.
First #SCOTUS ruling today is birthright citizenship.

Justice Barrett, for a 6-3 majority (with the three Dem. appointees dissenting) holds that universal injunctions are only appropriate when necessary to provide "complete" relief to parties, and stays these injunctions insofar as they go further:

If the law allows some people to act unjustly/immorally towards others with impunity—as it always has—it isn’t serving justice. Decades of slow progress to change that have caused many to conflate “the law” with “justice.” But we should be awake now to the fact that the law itself is not justice.
