I'm excited to announce I'll be returning to WSU Anthropology this Fall as an assistant professor! I know these announcements are a little weird these days, but I'm thrilled to be joining a great department with wonderful colleagues. I'm looking forward to this new chapter in my academic career

Excited to share my new preprint. My work focuses on solitude, but I am not one to advocate for a "solitude theory"; psych has too many theories so one less would be good. So, what I did the past 2 yrs is talking to people, reading work outside of my literature, essentially to shop for a framework 🧵

Seems like nobody's drinking plain water these days. Electrolyte packets or colorful sports drinks are everywhere. But do you need them?

CREID has supported my research in Kenya on how communities are responding to climate-sensitive diseases and how these adaptive efforts can be supported and upscaled. I'm disappointed that this and other research aimed at identifying and preventing future pandemics has been deemed unsafe and useless
In 2019, NIAID proposed an ambitious scientific network focused on pandemic preparedness, research, and response - the "CREID Network".

Ten centers kicked off just as the pandemic was taking off, playing critical roles throughout.

We were just notified the whole network is terminated.
