Om shatters any illusion of this with its acapella overdubbed chanting - totally unlike anything else. Then we're back to the depressive, atonal & out of tune Jandek we all love. The instruments and vocals are all hard panned left and right, he even creates an odd duet with himself on Remind You.

Regrettable that I completely missed this & a lot of the krautrock stuff when I was a young lad going through my prog phase. Very much what I was looking for at the time.

The closest musical analog is probably the nostalgic ambient folkscapes of World Standard. I'm counting this as a christmas album too because there are sleigh bells on Hearth. A lucky roll indeed.

When they're in full flight it's very much like Naked City with an extra layer of sampling to add to the chaos. Similarly, there's that tension knowing the music is capable of taking a hard turn at any moment, often multiple times mid song. Great, but later dwarfed by Consume Red & Plays Standards.

It seems that a wide variety of musics were rapidly disseminated through the movement of people & early commercial recordings arriving at colonial ports of the gold coast in the early 20th century.

It was therefore a delight to hear the call of The Internationale, recorded here as Bea Tsin No. 2:

All that's known is from Zonophone's advertising and the recordings - two guitars, a cavaquinho, a banjo and percussion. What's fascinating is the diversity of influences that can be heard - from the West Indies/Trinidad with Tin Ka Tin Ka and Kara So to the unmistakable Spanish guitar on Ader Su.

Big fan of MAP18 "De Coitu" and the Run From It time style time pressure gimmick with the platforms falling away as you engage in some light BFG work.

His voice is great and he handles the former well, but it feels restrained. Though we get brief flashes of his extended range and ululating on tracks like I Wanna Be Where You Are and the more ecstatic and jazz-funk focused pieces like It's My Life I'm Fighting For & Balance of Life (Peace of Mind).
