Firefly Trail was cool and wound through areas of Athens I'm not around much! Just sad that so much of the city that isn't downtown or on campus is completely run down, forgotten, or paved over... but heaven forbid we don't make more parking lots for the freshmen

Today in the loss community is known as the International Wave of Light. A day when those missing children gone too soon light a candle in honor of their babies. If you'd like to participate, the idea is to light a candle (any will do) at 7pm local time.

Every 12th of the month in our house is Marlo Day. Sometimes we commemorate, sometimes we just notice. In years since I last held him, I count 2, but in Marlo Days... I've lost count. Time makes me feel like an onlooker. Sobering how our norms encourage the silence, even about one's own tragedies.

One last head-empty spring outing with this 8 weeker before I start working again tomorrow.
Also, didn't realize it when I got it done, but my Marlo tattoo is nicely placed for hugging/holding his baby sister 😭

Last year I hosted my first gaming marathon to honor my late son's 1st birthday. In 2025 in addition to bringing the event back for his 2nd birthday in April, I'm doing extra streams to help us get to affiliate so we can use Twitch's charity tool. Giving us a follow or tuning in would be huge! <3

It was a lovely Christmas. Much like the holiday we had before everything changed (last year we had to get away because we couldn't pretend everything was the same or ok). Almost two years out we can now hold both the tragedy and hope/happiness in one hand, like two little birds.
