I can't get the idea out of my head that a fantasy setting based on the Indian ocean and surrounding seas/nations around like the 14th 15th century and inspired by the cultures and myths of those areas would go so fucking hard (but I'm deeply deeply unqualified to even start the project)

Keep thinking about this term "pre-digested" that Kojima used to describe art that's instantly gratifying. And how it's better when people grow to love something instead.
I've gravitated, as player and designer, toward the latter, but that term "pre-digested" is new and feels very strong.

The Larian thing really shows how video games is the medium most susceptible to AI. They keep demanding the faces of the industry to make bigger and bigger games even though they're barely sustainable as is, so they resort to stuff like AI and crunch and normalizes them for smaller projects.
