I had just gotten this email from our vet this morning, too, going over Einstein's bloodwork from yesterday, and once again he was stressing the importance of getting that ultrasound. To my anonymous donor, you have genuinely just given Einstein the best possible chance at life! 😭💖
1. Chemistry screen - This looks at organ function and electrolytes. The only changes to the chemistry screen are that Einstein has mild elevation of two of his liver values, the ALT and ALP. This could mean that the mass I was feeling is originating from the liver. It could also mean that the liver is just being irritated by the mass. Unfortunately, it doesn't give us a definite answer. The rest of the chemistry screen is normal. 2. CBC - This looks at red and white blood cells. Einstein's hematocrit (HCT) is low. That means that he is anemic. He also has a high reticulocyte count. Reticulocytes are baby red blood cells. A high reticulocyte count means that his body is trying to make new red blood cells. He also has a very high white blood cell count. Both his neutrophils and lymphocytes are significantly elevated. This tells us that Einstein is having a large inflammatory response. Both of these changes are likely related to the mass in his abdomen. 3. Thyroid - This was normal The next step is the ultrasound. We need to figure out what we are dealing with to know how to treat him. Depending on what we find on the ultrasound, we may want to start a medication for his anemia or even consider antibiotics.

Recently moved to Japan and I'm still working out how to get English tv. So, last night I watched Season 5 Episode 8 Changing Channels in Japanese. Here are two things I noticed: The blonde nurse whose only line is, "Doctor sexy?" Is dubbed over with a Japanese voice actress, however she still says the line in English. The Japanese game show host who speaks entirely in Japanese is also dubbed over by a new voice actor but still entirely in Japanese.

Ahh, thanks Dan!! I think a lot of that is just me problem-solving the question, "How do I control visual focus throughout the page as a whole," haha! I'm always knocking back the contrast & values of background elements to try to help readers' eyes along!
Keeping Time page 112 in greyscale, which brings out how characters are in darker, more contrasted values against the background elements of the comic panels.
